Position: Senior Solutions Architect – Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Solutions Architect to join our team and assist our clients in the post-sales implementation of their data center automation initiatives.
Role Summary:
As a Senior Solutions Architect – SDDC, you will be responsible for providing low-level design and hands-on deployment of enterprise infrastructure and platforms, including upgrade and migration services and seamless integration with existing systems. You will also serve as a mentor to other consultants within the team and act as the technical lead on projects and workshops.
Key Responsibilities:
– Perform low-level design and implementation work, including architecture analysis and design, system migration, and systems engineering.
– Design and implement VMware VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation), both Brownfield and Greenfield, as well as VMware VCF (Aria) Automation.
– Utilize automation and IaC technologies such as SaltStack, Terraform, or Ansible.
– Demonstrate proficiency in PowerShell, PowerCLI, and Javascript.
– Manage server virtualization and operations, vSAN, storage, SAN, disaster recovery, VMware NSX, and general virtual networking.
– Develop backup and ransomware resiliency solutions, as well as hyperconverged solutions.
– Act as a mentor and provide guidance to other architects and consultants within the team.
– Collaborate with sales and presales teams to identify and close professional services opportunities.
– Provide configuration and upgrade services within customers’ environments.
– Participate in pre-sales conversations, design, and planning of services engagements.
– Stay up-to-date with industry trends and offerings.
– Provide technical leadership and mentorship in both pre-sales and post-sales capacities to support successful understanding, evaluation, and adoption of offerings.
– Demonstrate long-term thinking in relation to our infrastructure practice and customer engagements.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
– 7+ years of experience in solutions architecture or working with infrastructure (blade chassis, servers, hypervisors, storage, and backup solutions).
– 10+ years of experience with VMware and associated product range in enterprise environments.
– 8-10+ years of technical experience with increasing responsibility.
– Willingness to travel occasionally.
– Thorough understanding of virtualization technologies and software-defined data center.
Requirements:
– Expertise in overseeing and directing projects to completion, ensuring goals are met, resources are utilized efficiently, and stakeholders are satisfied.
– Ability to systematically identify, document, and manage the technical needs and specifications of a project by engaging with stakeholders and analyzing business objectives to ensure successful project outcomes.
– Proficiency in defining, designing, building, and maintaining robust systems and solutions by leveraging systems and infrastructure effectively.
– Extensive experience writing, debugging, and maintaining code in various scripting and programming languages to automate tasks and develop software solutions.
– Knowledge of various infrastructure components (firewalls, load balancers, hypervisors, storage, monitoring, and security) and ability to use orchestration tools to develop comprehensive technical solutions.
– Ability to develop detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) and drive revenue growth through professional services engagements.
– Extensive experience working on large-scale IT projects related to design, deployment, and configuration.
