Position: Senior Software Engineer at Lyra Health

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help build the infrastructure and services necessary to deliver ML and generative AI-based products that have a significant impact within our organization. The ideal candidate will be passionate about taking ownership of their work, leading cross-functional projects, and providing mentorship to other team members.

– Collaborate with brilliant colleagues to solve complex and meaningful problems
– Make a positive social impact by supporting individuals during their most challenging moments
– Work closely with physicians, therapists, data scientists, data analysts, and product managers

This position can be based at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA, or can be performed in a hybrid or fully remote/virtual setting. Remote candidates must be located within the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

– Work with a team to develop machine learning and generative AI-powered solutions
– Build backend infrastructure to support scalable, resilient, and high-performing solutions
– Create services that expose machine learning and AI-based products
– Deploy and manage various applications in a production environment
– Code on a daily basis

Qualifications:

– 4+ years of experience delivering production-ready products
– Proficiency in Python and the ability to write high-quality code
– Experience developing RESTful APIs
– Familiarity with Protobuf messages
– Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
– Knowledge of relational and low-latency databases
– Experience with Celery
– A strong interest in working on ML/AI-based products
– A desire to learn new technologies quickly
– A passion for building systems from the ground up
– A thoughtful approach to balancing quality and deadlines in fast-paced environments
– Excellent communication skills and the ability to build consensus and alignment
– Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and solve complex problems to drive the team and business forward

Preferred Qualifications:

– Experience developing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions
– Knowledge of setting up and maintaining vector databases
– Experience writing production code in Java or Kotlin
– Experience building solutions on cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS
– Familiarity with working with sensitive data in a healthcare environment
