Position: Senior Data Engineer

Comcast Emerging Wireless is a leading provider of wireless services, with a focus on growth and innovation in the Xfinity Mobile wireless market. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to our internal strategy and roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of market trends, technology advancements, standards, and competitive projections.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of data engineering products.
• Guide multiple engineering teams in the successful deployment and operation of products and applications.
• Provide leadership and guidance to other researchers in developing innovative solutions and discovering new products.
• Collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams.
• Utilize knowledge of business priorities to drive decision-making.
• Act as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment.
• Lead teams and projects, and share expertise with colleagues.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or data science.
• Strong understanding of Apache Spark architecture, components, and concepts.
• Proficiency in Spark programming using languages such as Python or Scala, and SQL.
• Familiarity with cluster management, configuration, and optimization in Databricks.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience with programming, object-oriented design, and application development using languages like Python, Scala, and SQL.
• Familiarity with AWS Solutions, GitHub, and Agile Development.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Grafana, Tableau, CARTO, and/or Power BI.
Requirements:
• Analyze large and complex data to identify actionable business insights using self-service analytics and reporting tools.
• Combine data from multiple sources to complete analysis.
• Communicate findings clearly and concisely through narrative-driven presentations and effective data visualizations to Company executives and decision makers.
• Foster a culture of excellence, data-driven discussions, healthy skepticism, intellectual curiosity, knowledge sharing, and teamwork.
