Position: Senior Software Engineer at Greenlight

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our Web Core team at Greenlight. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for developing core web initiatives, including bringing our core Greenlight functionality to the web for the first time. You will also serve as a horizontal platform team, providing support and mentorship to other web developers, setting standards and best practices, and building common libraries. Additionally, you will be expected to contribute to our backend services as needed to achieve team goals.
This role reports to a Senior Engineering Manager and will work with a variety of technologies, including Node.js, React, NextJS, Remix, REST, Express, AWS, Kubernetes, and Kotlin (preferred).
Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with domain teams, product managers, and designers to bring different parts of the Greenlight mobile application experience to the web
– Support all web development within Greenlight as part of the web core team, including providing mentorship and support for other web teams, defining standards and best practices, and determining technologies
– Work in a strong team to quickly deliver on web products
– Balance new features and technical debt while continuously adding incremental features in collaboration with product and design teams
– Scale and maintain our backend services to support new feature requests and our growing user base
– Improve the reliability and availability of our platform, which supports our families and partners
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
– 3+ years of software development experience
– Ability to context switch frequently in a fast-paced environment
– Strong focus on performance, scalability, and observability
– Experience building single page applications using a modern framework
– Experience building REST APIs
– Recent experience building backend services using Node.js
– Understanding of the build/measure/learn process and lean startup skills
– Experience with A/B testing and experimentation (preferred)
– Familiarity with modern MarTech tools such as Segment, Optimizely, and Mixpanel (preferred)

Salary:
Greenlight provides a competitive compensation package, including a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, equity rewards, medical benefits, 401k match, and more. The estimated base pay range for this position varies by location, experience, and skill set.
– (NY, CA, WA): $142,000-185,000
– (CO): $142,000-170,000
