Position: Senior Data Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Athlete team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting a variety of data sources, both inbound and outbound. You will also collaborate with vendors to build and maintain data flows, ensuring the security and integrity of all data. Your expertise in data modeling, Python, SQL, and agile development will be crucial to the success of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
– Break down ambiguous goals into actionable stories and sprints for effective collaboration and execution
– Implement PII data security measures and handle identity resolution to ensure the integrity of all data
– Work closely with Data Analysts to determine data requirements and support business needs
– Provide guidance and feedback to achieve team goals
– Support the development and maintenance of enterprise systems
– Drive the design and distribution of data infrastructure resources
– Design and model complex data structures for efficient consumption and analysis
– Explore, document, and maintain complex datasets, ensuring data quality and lineage
– Collect functional requirements and contribute to program management planning
– Analyze current and future state processes and recommend improvements
– Research and suggest ways to optimize solutions to meet user and business needs
– Ensure compliance with information security and organizational policies and procedures
– Develop own and junior team member capabilities through training and coaching
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
– 3-6 years of general experience in data engineering
– Basic experience in coordinating the work of others (4-6 months)
– Strong understanding of data modeling and pipeline development
– Ability to collaborate with various teams, including data scientists, sales/marketing, and software engineering
