Job Title: Principal Programmer – Simulation Development
Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 per year + Benefits
Location: Remote (excluding NY & CA)
Our client, a leading company in the gaming and simulation industry, is seeking a highly skilled Principal Programmer to join their team. This role is perfect for a Unity expert who can design and develop complex systems, mentor team members, and drive technical innovation across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
– Architect and implement advanced systems and tools using Unity
– Lead technical initiatives and evaluate and integrate new technologies
– Mentor and guide junior programmers, establishing best practices
– Collaborate with design, art, and production teams
– Optimize performance for various platforms
– Contribute to technical documentation and conduct code reviews
Requirements:
– Minimum of 8 years of programming experience in games or simulation development
– Expertise in Unity3D (C#) with a strong understanding of architecture
– Proven experience with Unity ECS
– Advanced knowledge of Git workflows (branching/merging)
– Proficient in performance profiling and optimization techniques
– Solid understanding of design patterns and clean architecture
– Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Bonus Skills:
– Experience with other game engines and programming languages
– Familiarity with shader development (HLSL/GLSL, Shader Graph)
– Knowledge of networking and multiplayer implementation
– Familiarity with Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban)
– Portfolio showcasing shipped titles
