Position Overview:
As the NPM Audience Data Manager for Sponsorship, you will work closely with the product, sales, programmatic, and digital operations teams to create and maintain audience data segments for use in sponsorship and across the entire NPR organization. This role requires a strong interest in digital media, digital sponsorship, and ad tech, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with NPR’s sponsors, many of which are Fortune 500 companies. The ideal candidate will also have a passion for public media, its mission, and its programs.

This position is remote-permitted, but candidates must reside within the 10 states where National Public Media operates: NY, NJ, CA, CT, MD, VA, IL, CO, MN, and Washington D.C.

Responsibilities:
– Manage National Public Media’s sponsorship data operations, with a focus on driving performance for NPR’s sponsors
– Build and maintain first-party data segments within our DMP, Permutive
– Oversee the onboarding of data partners and activation of their segments across our inventory
– Act as an internal subject matter expert on data technology partners and capabilities
– Develop and implement a go-to-market strategy for audience data capabilities, in collaboration with the marketing and sales teams
– Provide training and support for cross-departmental product adoption and sales enablement
– Serve as the primary contact for sponsorship-related data targeting, integrity, and methodology questions
– Provide client recommendations on contextual targeting, brand safety, and brand suitability for podcasting and display inventory
– Package audience segments for digital proposals to meet client targeting KPIs and increase overall spend levels for digital sponsorship campaigns
– Collaborate with the product team to develop and oversee a strategic roadmap for data products and technology
– Create and maintain benchmarks and performance data for audience and contextual segments
– Identify new identity partners to improve programmatic performance and partner with the programmatic team for vendor onboarding and implementation
– Analyze the performance of identifiers and signals across the bid stream for all programmatic demand partners
– Ensure compliance with privacy legislation across programmatic data flows and QA CMP accuracy for the programmatic tech stack
– Support consent management work related to sponsorship products and vendors
– Maintain advertising/sponsorship compliance with all privacy legislation

Requirements:
– 4+ years of experience in advertising operations, programmatic management, product marketing management, or audience analytics
– 2+ years of experience operating a data management platform (DMP)
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Previous experience in a customer service or client-facing role is a plus
– Ability to work under time pressure and handle time-sensitive requests
– Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Strong analytical skills and experience working with large data sets and reporting tools
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience with Permutive DMP and identity vendors such as LiveRamp
– Experience working with programmatic DSPs/SSPs and troubleshooting programmatic delivery
– Experience in ad-serving platforms such as Google Ad Manager 360 or Megaphone

Work Location:
Remote Permitted: This position is remote-permitted, but candidates must reside within the 10 states where National Public Media operates: NY, NJ, CA, CT, MD, VA, IL, CO, MN, and Washington D.C.

Required Skills:
– Hands-on experience creating insights from digital data (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Google Ad Manager)
– Experience with optimization of digital media campaigns or site optimization using site analytics tools
– Project management experience
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
– Relationship management skills
– Strong analysis skills

Job Type:
This is a full-time, exempt position.

Compensation:
Salary Range: The anticipated salary range for this position is $88,000 – $96,000 plus benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salaries NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.
