Job Description:
As a shopper, it can be challenging to find a product with the desired characteristics and price, whether in-store or online. It can also be frustrating when a desired product is out of stock. Similarly, brands and retailers struggle to gain visibility and ensure a seamless shopping experience for customers. At Wiser Solutions, we believe in providing a seamless shopping experience for customers by offering brands and retailers the visibility they need to make this belief a reality.
We are looking for a lead data engineer to join our team of like-minded individuals and take charge of developing the data architecture that powers our data collection process and analytics platform. Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to design data solutions that support customers’ business practices
– Develop and extend our data pipeline services and architecture to implement solutions
– Provide mentorship to junior team members and share expertise with others
– Ensure high-quality standards for data management to build trust within our organization and with customers
– Take ownership of projects from idea to production
– Bring new ideas to the table for innovation
– Utilize technologies such as SQL, Python, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and Terraform
– Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or relevant technical field, 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, proficiency in data languages and processing technologies, understanding of ETL/ELT and OLTP/OLAP concepts, and experience with data warehouses and lakes
– Bonus points for experience with vector databases, retail or eCommerce environments, other programming languages, in-memory columnar data technologies, and ML/Agentic AI pipelines
– Provide mentorship and lead agile ceremonies for team members
