Globaldev Group is a leading provider of engineering teams for technological businesses in Western Europe, Israel, and the USA. We specialize in creating long-term product teams with investments and a modern stack of technologies. Founded in 2010 in Kharkiv, Ukraine, we have since expanded to Berlin, Germany in 2017 and currently have 220 employees with ongoing growth. In 2022, we have development hubs in Israel, Ukraine, Portugal, and Poland.
Responsibilities:
– Manage end-to-end data pipelines, pulling data from operational systems and various endpoints
– Transform and load data into the company’s data lake
– Migrate current environment from Hadoop to a new Spark-based environment on AWS
– Collaborate with team members to ensure successful completion of data migration
– Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using SQL and Spark
– Utilize cloud-hosted data warehouses such as Hive and Snowflake
– Apply knowledge of Hadoop framework and parallel computing (EMR, HIVE, Presto/Trino/Athena, Glue)
– Implement data warehousing and modeling paradigms, adhering to best practices
– Familiarity with Kafka, Confluent, Fluentd, Spark, and Airflow
– Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
– Knowledge of media or TV industry is an advantage
Qualifications:
– 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer
– BA/BSc in a related field such as CS, engineering, information systems, or equivalent
– High proficiency in SQL and Python
– Experience with cloud-hosted data warehouses (Hive, Snowflake)
– Hands-on experience with developing end-to-end ETL/ELT processes using Spark and SQL
– Familiarity with Hadoop framework and parallel computing (EMR, HIVE, Presto/Trino/Athena, Glue)
– Proven experience with data warehousing, modeling paradigms, and architectures
– Proficient in data warehousing methodologies and best practices
Soft Skills:
– Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
– Team player with the ability to work independently and lead projects from end to end
– Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
