Position Overview:
As a Junior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the automation, development, maintenance, and optimization of our data pipelines and infrastructure. You will work closely with senior data engineers to process, clean, and transform large datasets, ensuring data integrity and availability for analytics and business decision-making. This position offers hands-on experience with cloud platforms, SQL databases, and ETL processes, providing a strong foundation for growth in data engineering. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and contribute to improving data workflows. This role will also involve supporting our in-house IT admin team to maintain the company’s IT hardware and software.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain Python scripts and applications for data processing, analysis, and automation.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Review data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Organize and maintain electronic records for company databases.
• Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in creating reports and proposals to present findings to management.
• Address technical issues and provide IT support to ensure smooth business operations.
• Support the IT management team.
• Set up notebooks/servers.
• Repair and maintain computer equipment.
• Support Microsoft user management.
• Design and implement security controls and risks, including logins and passwords.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an engineering field.
• 1-2 years of relevant private sector work experience in IT or data science, actively using Python and PowerBI.
• Professional experience working with Python, including common libraries like scipy, pandas, and scikit-learn.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Availability to work full USA hour shift (EST, CST, MST, or PST).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to gain trust.
• Willingness to learn and apply on-the-job training.
• High-speed Wi-Fi connection.
• Ability to work 8-hour shifts.
• Can-do attitude and self-reflective mindset.
Desired Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience with Python or other scripting languages – SQL and PowerBI is a plus.
• Experience in IT hardware and software support.
• Knowledge of Microsoft user management.
• Familiarity with security controls and risks.
• Experience using PowerBI for data visualization and reporting.
• Understanding of cloud platforms and SQL databases.
