Customer Solutions Designer – Discourse
Salary: Dependent on location and experience, can be provided up front.
Location: USA timezones within the Americas only

About the Role:
As a Customer Solutions Designer at Discourse, you will be a generalist, with the opportunity to work on various tasks. This includes creating mockups and implementing designs in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You will also work closely with Discourse customers to customize themes and components for their communities. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining theme additions and changes for long-term Discourse client sites.
Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with enterprise clients (such as Unreal Engine, OpenAI, Atlassian, etc.) on 16 and 40 hour customization packages
– Work with one or more Discourse Customer Success Managers to meet client needs and expectations, while also prioritizing design-related tasks
– Maintain client-specific design requirements
– Implement large batches of design changes to existing client themes and theme components
– During busy periods, work on multiple ongoing customer projects and during quieter times, look for ways to develop new open-source themes for Discourse communities
– Provide support on our Meta forum and directly with customers via email
Qualifications:
– Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
– Familiarity with EmberJS or a similar JavaScript framework
– Excellent customer service and communication skills
– Ability to interpret brand guidelines and implement designs that align with them
– Familiarity with building themes for Discourse is preferred
– Experience with design software such as Figma or Sketch
