Data Scientist – Revenue and Growth Finance Team at Dropbox

Dropbox is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our Finance team and help drive the growth and strategy of our company through data and analytics. As a member of the Revenue and Growth Finance team, you will partner with finance and product teams to answer critical questions about revenue growth, product optimization, scaling, and monetization. This role requires in-depth knowledge of consumer behavior analysis, customer segmentation, digital campaigns, monetization analytics, and business operations within a SaaS company.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a thorough understanding of customer journey phases and key business metrics.

• Conduct detailed analytical deep-dives to identify problems and opportunities, formulate hypotheses, and design and execute experiments.

• Utilize exploratory analysis to understand user engagement behavior and derive insights to inform future experimentation design and roadmaps.

• Create personalized segmentation strategies using propensity models to enable targeted offers and experiences based on user attributes.

• Identify key trends and create automated reporting and executive-facing dashboards to track acquisition, monetization, and engagement progress.

• Extract actionable insights from complex, multi-dimensional customer behavior data sets.

• Communicate complex concepts clearly through excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory and internal policies.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Data Science, Engineering, Product, User Research, and senior executives, to execute and iterate rapidly.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience using analytics to drive key business decisions, such as business/product/marketing analytics, business intelligence, or strategy consulting.

• Proven ability to work independently and engage with business stakeholders with minimal direction.

• Significant experience with SQL and large unstructured datasets.

• In-depth understanding of statistical analysis, modeling, and common analytical techniques like regression.

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex data concepts to diverse stakeholders.

• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a quantitative discipline, such as Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or a related field.

Compensation:

• This role is not available in Zone 1.

• Zone 2: $136,900 – $185,300 USD.

• Zone 3: $121,700 – $164,700 USD.
