OVERVIEW
We are seeking a data and insights expert to join our Innovation Lab’s Product R&D team. As a Data Operations Analyst, you will play a key role in developing and managing our AI-powered product, AskCR. This role requires a combination of program management, product operations, and data strategy skills to deliver the best of CR’s product expertise to our members.
AskCR is a pro-consumer AI that provides expert-backed advice using CR’s trusted information. We are one of the only AI-powered experiences with over 100 human experts, all working towards a common goal of consumer advocacy.
As the Data Operations Analyst for AskCR, you will be responsible for tuning and scaling our AI product, ensuring it remains accurate, transparent, and trustworthy as it grows. This is a unique opportunity to work on a purpose-driven product that connects users, experts, and product teams in a live, in-market setting.

How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Data Operations Analyst focused on AskCR, you will:
– Operate and improve the two-way feedback systems between CR’s human experts and AskCR users via AI.
– Analyze product usage, user messages, and expert contributions to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for system improvement.
– Design dashboards and reports to translate complex data into actionable insights for product, engineering, and content teams.
– Track and communicate key program metrics, such as expert contributions, content coverage, and answer effectiveness.
– Support trust and safety operations by monitoring conversations and addressing policy or quality concerns.
– Maintain clear documentation and identify opportunities to automate and streamline workflows.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll Be Highly Rated If:
– You have 4+ years of experience in business intelligence, data operations, or a related role in the tech or research industry.
– You are proficient in SQL read queries, spreadsheets (Google Sheets/Excel), and dashboard tools (e.g. Databricks, Adobe, GA).
– You have a proven track record of turning qualitative and quantitative data into product impact.
– You are metrics-driven and skilled at defining, tracking, and communicating program-level metrics.
– You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
– You have a systems mindset and are comfortable navigating ambiguity.

FAIR PAY AND A JUST WORKPLACE
At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair and transparent pay. Our compensation is competitive and based on factors such as location and the candidate’s skills, knowledge, and experience. We have three locations: Yonkers, NY, Washington, DC, and Colchester, CT.
Salary ranges:
– NY/California: $120K-$135K annually
– DMW/Massachusetts: $115K-$130K annually
– Colchester, CT and other approved CR locations: $95K-$110K annually
