We are currently seeking an Application Engineer to join our growing team at one of the largest European organizations in law enforcement.
Responsibilities:
– Install, configure, and administer applications in both production and non-production environments
– Monitor application performance and continuously improve efficiency and quality of service
– Provide support and maintenance for applications, including incident, change, release, and problem resolution
– Write and validate application procedures and troubleshooting guides
– Automate administrative tasks and provide technical support documentation
– Contribute to the development and maintenance of the technical knowledgebase for ICT Operations
– Report on application availability, performance, capacity, and usage
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
– Bachelor’s degree and at least 9 years of experience in IT, with a focus on mid/large IT infrastructure environments
– Working knowledge of English (level B2 or higher)
– 6+ years of experience in mid/large IT infrastructure environments, including deployment, support, and maintenance of applications
– 5+ years of experience in application administration
– 2+ years of experience with microservices, container orchestration, and container-based stacks (e.g., Docker or Kubernetes)
– 2+ years of experience administering and supporting Elasticsearch
– 5+ years of experience with enterprise Microsoft or Linux server solutions
– Good knowledge of Elasticsearch cluster deployment and administration
– Good knowledge of microservices, container orchestration, and container-based stacks using Kubernetes, Helm charts, Docker, and Rancher
– Good knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Chocolatey)
– Good knowledge of shell and/or PowerShell scripting
– Good knowledge of ITIL processes, including incident, change, and release management
Desirable Requirements:
– 2+ years of experience with Public or Hybrid Cloud services and solutions (e.g., Azure or AWS)
– Good knowledge of DEVOPS methodologies and tools
– Good knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and their interaction with applications
– Good knowledge of Kong API Gateway
– Good knowledge of Azure or AWS
– Certifications in any of the mentioned technologies
