Position: Senior / Staff AI Engineer at Rye

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior / Staff AI Engineer to join our remote-first team. While we have a base in NYC, most of our team works remotely. As a Senior / Staff AI Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing a cutting-edge browser agent that automates different aspects of checkout in a secure and reliable manner. You will also be responsible for designing a system that utilizes AI to create fault-tolerant and repeatable checkout workflows. This role involves coordinating with team members and systems, communicating updates proactively, and working independently.
Responsibilities:
– Develop and maintain a high-quality browser agent using advanced techniques for reliable and reusable automation in ecommerce scenarios.
– Lead the creation and optimization of a model focused on the checkout process.
– Architect and implement the infrastructure for our AI-based solution.
– Coordinate with team members and systems to ensure efficient and iterative product development.
– Stay updated on the latest AI advancements and be the expert in the team.
– Work independently in a remote-first environment.
Qualifications:
– Minimum 4 years of experience in backend/AI engineering.
– Proven experience in building LLM or NLP applications.
– In-depth knowledge of related techniques, such as fine-tuning, multi-step reasoning, text processing, and machine translation.
– Experience with designing evaluations and building tight experiment loops.
– Strong understanding of browser internals and automation techniques.
– Bonus skill: Familiarity with fraud detection solutions in ecommerce.
– Proficient in Python.
– Strong understanding of software development best practices.
– Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
– Strong technical writing skills.
