Job Title: Staff/Senior II Frontend Engineer at Appcues
Location: Remote, North or South America (must be available to work between 10am – 4pm Eastern Time)

About the Role:
As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Appcues, you will play a crucial role in empowering our customers to improve their product’s adoption for millions of end-users without writing any code. You will work on our React applications and JavaScript SDK, which enable customers to design personalized in-app, email, and push messaging experiences. You will also collaborate with our world-class customers, such as Fullstory, Surfline, and Hotjar, to deliver high-quality experiences to their end-users.
Tools We Use:
We use React, styled-components, Tailwind, xstate.js, Web Components, Turbo, Webpack, and Vite to develop our apps and SDK. We also utilize Github, Slack, Zoom, Figma, cursor.com, OpenAI, and Anthropic AI tools to enhance our productivity. Our testing tools include Jest and Playwright, and we document our components in Storybook.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with your team to design, architect, and implement new features
– Mentor and support other engineers
– Conduct research and experiments to continuously improve our product and codebase
– Work with designers and other engineers to create scalable design systems and reusable components
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into quality code and delightful user experiences
– Participate in all stages of development, including discovery and user testing of new features and products
About You:
– You have experience as the engineering lead on significant features
– You are passionate about producing high-quality, accessible, and performant user experiences
– You are proficient in writing modern functional JavaScript and following DRY principles
– You have a growth mindset and regularly experiment with new tools and technologies, such as AI
– You strive to design modular frontend architectures and consider the overall impact on the system
– You have experience with unit and integration testing and believe in automating whenever possible
– You are empathetic and enjoy working in a collaborative and communicative team environment
– You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
– You can work full-time with your fast-paced team and are available to work between 10am – 4pm Eastern Time
Compensation:
At Appcues, we use a market-data driven approach to set our compensation ranges. Our salary range for this role is competitive nationwide, and we adjust for cost of labor in each market for non-US based candidates. In addition to salary-based compensation, we offer an equity package (in stock options), 401k match, and other benefits such as a home office and tech budget, training and education budget, and coworking space reimbursements. The actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related experience and other factors consistent with applicable law.
