Position: Senior Data/ML Engineer, Product Discovery Team at Zora

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data/ML Engineer to join our new Discovery team. This individual will play a crucial role in surfacing high-quality recommendations for creators and content across our platform. Your work will directly impact the user experience of our product, as you build feedback loops to enhance Zora’s platform for creators and traders.
Key Responsibilities:
– Design, build, and continuously improve retrieval and ranking pipelines to power discovery surfaces such as feed, explore, search, and upcoming ML-driven features.
– Shape evaluation loops by defining high-signal metrics, conducting A/B tests, and adjusting weights based on outcomes.
– Develop and maintain discovery surfaces for the API, used by both the product and external partners.
– Effectively communicate status updates, blockers, and other relevant information to cross-functional stakeholders.
– Respond to incidents as part of an on-call rotation.
– Participate in RFC and code reviews.
Qualifications:
– 5+ years of experience as an engineer building production data pipelines with ML.
– Proven track record of effectively running experiments.
– Strong communication and prioritization skills.
– Ability to deliver performant, maintainable code that balances product needs with technical constraints.
– Located in EU or U.S. (ET) time zone.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Prior experience with ingestion for blockchain data.
– Strong knowledge of Python and MongoDB.
– Familiarity with modern ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
– Experience working in high-ambiguity startup environments.
– Good product intuition and understanding of user needs.
